NOW IS THE TIME! Budget Timeline and Actors

Contact your representatives in the State Assembly and State Senate, as well as the Governor to let them know that adequate and equitable funding for schools is a priority.

1. As the finishing touches are put on the Governor`s Budget (expected January 22, 2013) and State of the State Speech to be presented on January 9, 2013, call the Governor`s office to be sure that equity in state aid to ALL schools is not ignored!

2. Our State Legislators need to know that we are expecting them to advocate for us.  They can do so while the budget is being developed in January, with their counter-proposals from January through March, and ultimately with their vote in late March.

3. In addition to your own legislators, the leadership in the Assembly and the Senate need to know that equitable and adequate funding for education are a priority as they will be negotiating with the Governor.
